Parragon publishes these great little bible stories for children. However while reading Jonah and the Whale, my granddaughter, 4, found the illustration confusing.
I read, “On the third day, God made the whale spit Jonah onto dry land.”
Lili pointed at Jonah. “He’s dead!”
“No, he lived,” I assured her.
She shook her head. “He died.”
Later, Lili’s mother asked her, “Where did Jonah go after the whale spit him out?”
Lili didn’t skip a beat. “He went to see Jesus at the cross!”
Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of children is their fathers. Proverbs 17:6

Oh that Lili! She knows what is going on, for sure! ( and they could’ve made Jonah look more alive! haha!) God bless you and your sweet ones!
I agree! Lili just couldn’t get past the assumed death and on to Nineveh!
If Jonah had been faced up, I think she could have found hope and listened to the rest of the story!
Thank you and God Bless You!
Awesome… simply awesome!
Thank you, Mike! She’s a funny grandchild!
God Bless You!

Amen, Francine!
God Bless you Richly!
Sweet!
Thank you & God Bless you, Bill!
Well in one way Lili was right Dei , Jesus is the desternation of us all even the Old Testerment Saints knew the Light would come through Him, but they only had the promise we have the reality but I think I would prefer to realise it now instead of in the belly of a whale but then it did save Jonah’S life, as Jesus does ours, Hmmmm very good Lili.

Hello, Annie. Lili cracked me up because in her mind Nineveh was not possible when the prophet lay dead on the bank.
Children can be profound at times.
God Bless you mightily!
