Most of you know that snakes have been under our families feet all summer long, but what you may not know is our constant encounter with scorpions. After a couple dozen sightings near bare toes, I have become an awesome scorpion killer. With my handy dandy flyswatter — SMACK — I implant the beast onto the tile. No fuss, no muss!
However first thing this morning Lili, my little prodigy, decided she’d handle our very first baby scorpion.
As she swung the swatter, she squeaked, but valiantly kept on swinging until she stopped, somewhat perplexed. “Grandma, where’s the baby scorpion?”
Picture below is the baby scorpion that got away!
Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Luke 10:19
LOL, Dei! With all that swatting, those scorpions are definitely probably getting weary, but no doubt they should also start to become WARY of the sinister swatters!
Hello, Charlotte. I decided wary was a better word, so I changed my title to incorporate your brilliance!
Thank you & God Bless You!
I can’t stand those things!
Holy crap where do you live?! I live in CT, so we don’t have scorpions roaming around here. My friends all freak out at little spiders, it would be hilarious watching them react to those big ugly monsters.
Hello, M. M. If you ever travel through the Midwest remember to keep your boots on — we have lots of critters roaming around including huge spiders. You would have a hay day watching your friends scream though.
God Bless You!
Bless you too
Thank you Dei for your encouragment by e-mail, now your sure it is not too much trouble for you to put us all up for a few months Holiday, we really do wish it was longer but we are to be thankful for all things even Scorpions, Hmmmm good post! but please make sure there not around when we come no matter how friendly they can be. Oh yes, a big ask, can my Mum come too, she has always wanted to see America and ride in the Cup and Saucer at Disneyland, at 92+ she feels it would be better now then later.
See you soon – Love from us all – Annie
P.S I still can’t leave a Like Dei and your error box is back, T is having the same problem and some other Bloggers that I visit but strangly those I don’t visit or they have never visited me don’t, but I will check some more to be sure, it may be just a coincidence as a few are ok that I do, but most are not.
Well if you’re coming to the Midwest, you better put your boots on!
I hope you can “Like” my post soon!
God Bless You!
Thankfully we don’t have them down here either – snakes are enough to watch out for.
God Bless!
Loved it!! I house I used to live in, they would fall off of the ceiling into the bed. It was nothing to get stung at least once a night. After a while we just got used to it:>) A flyswatter is about as good as anything. One trick I did find regarding the bed, of course keep all covers off of the floor, but I put the bed rollers in a butter tub of water. It seemed to work for them crawling in the bed with us! God Bless, SR
Oh, SR. I would have to fumigate. I could not have the critters anywhere near the bedroom. Are scorpions are almost always in the kitchen. You’re a brave woman!
God Bless You!
Oh Lady Dei! Between your snakes and scorpions, I do hope you won’t mind if I confine my visits to you from here!! All of my squealing and shrieking would either scare or amuse your kidlets!! God bless y’all–love, sis Caddo
It would be fun for us though!
God Bless You!
You are training them up right, Lady Dei!
My Aub likes to catch things in a little tube and release the bugs outside. . .but that just would not do with scorpions!!! God bless you and your swatters!
Hello, Deb. Good that Aub is willing to relocate the critters — I just smash them all. And teach the little ones to do the same, but we are overcome with bug life at times.
God Bless You!
those things give me the willies
Ugh! I think I’ll stop complaining about my centipedes!!
