Victory!

James is my oldest grandson. He’s a very sweet, well-mannered, and exceedingly active little boy. For many years now, he has worked hard to learn the art of baseball. With many trials and errors, he is undaunted in reaching his goal. We as Christians could learn from this seven year old child.

When James staggers, he shakes it off and gets back into the game. When our walk with the lord resembles a stumble, do we shake it off gracefully and get back into the word.

When James misses the ball, he runs hard, then hurriedly throws it back into the game. If we miss God’s call or voice, do we hurriedly seek the Lord, ask for forgiveness, and then leave the mishap behind.

Paul wrote, “But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead. I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Phil 3: 13 -14

John wrote, “For Everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith. 1 John 5:4.

James’ home run victory dance!

Like James, if you persevere in Christ Jesus, you can, will, and shall have victory!!!

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil. 4:13

  1. I love that scripture it hangs at my front door to remind me as I walk out the door of what I can do with the help of the Lord. Thanks for sharing with the help of your grandson’s actions.

    BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!

  2. Amen! We certainly could learn a thing or two from your grandson Lady D. A great many of us Christians are too proud to pick ourselves up when we fall. Instead of seeking forgiveness we make excuses. When the patriarch David messed up he went before God and seek forgiveness.

I thank you very much for sharing your wisdom and Christian knowledge through this blog. May God continue to bless you richly.

  3. I SO LOVE THIS!!! Just blessed me head to toe! Kids are such great teachers, aren’t they?! God bless you and your special family–love, sis Caddo

  4. Great to see someone out and about and not locked into a computer game or such. Thanks for the lovely photos of James enjoying his sport, . As you say a lesson for us to put same effort into our spiritual walk !

    • Hello, Ron. He likes his computer games, but he has too much energy to be locked into them for very long. I think children should be limited to anything electronic and get outside — ride bikes, play tag, chase lightening bugs.
Thank you & God Bless You!

  5. Hi Dei, thank you so much for visiting my Aussie friend Viv, she is quiet the opposite of me, more reserved and quiet but with a big heart like you.

Wow, James, I want at least six of him, he is awesome, you are so blessed with your Grandchildren and yes as often said they are also very blessed to have you as a Loving Granny, I can only imagine the Joy you all share.

As Children of God who He has known eternally and chosen because of our heart repentance, to be conformed into the image of His Son Jesus Christ, we can never be lost and in the end we will always have the Victory and even if sadly we fall into sin, He will rescue us and restore us, after true heart repentance and then He will forgive and choose to forget we have.

How do we know if we are a child of God, He will tell us in our heart and we will show it in our lives, our thoughts will turn to Him and our mouths will Praise Him, and we will Love Him deeply and others too and yes we will be like James, we wont give up no matter how close we come, God won’t let us.

Christian Love from both of us – Annie

    • Hello, Annie. I hope you’re feeling better. I’ve been busy, busy here. I’m glad the Lord forgives my shortcomings because I seem to be staggering in them. :) I’m also glad the master potter has me in the palm of his hand molding me too!
      God Bless You!

      • Hi Dei, winter increases my pain but I take one day at a time and I have God’s healing balm, a gift from Him that relieves a lot of the discomfort.

Yes what you said about God being our Potter is True, He shapes and moulds us with gentleness and compassion , with understanding and mercy not in pain, suffering and hardship, yes they happen but it is then that He places us high on a shelf out of danger of falling away and blesses us greatly so we are comforted, what about the furnace, the Scripture below brings light to this. How wonderful to be a Child of the King of Kings.

Isaiah 43:1-3 – Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.”

Evil is the absence of Love … God is Love.

        Christian Love Anne.
