Our quick trip home sent us over the Mississippi River.
This is a monument about a courageous young man,Tom Lee, who fished 32 people from the Mississippi River when a steamboat capsized.
This is Memphis from the riverside park. Can you see the pyramid? — it’s going to be a Brass Pro Shop. Why? because it just makes good sense.
These are beautiful new homes overlooking the mighty river. (I almost retrieved a violin.)
Even though it was a somewhat dreary day, I begged Steve for a photo of the Mississippi River Bridge. The downside was I had to be in the picture.
Yea Steve!!!! Good choice to put you into the pic, otherwise it’s just another picture of a famous bridge, nice but we can find a pic of that anywhere, you however, rare and remarkable…a combo shot, priceless.
Thanks for the great photos of your adventures, I enjoyed them so much. Blessings to you all I hope your turkey was YUM! -WATW
Thank you, WATW, you are way too kind. Steve wanted me to post the pic of myself, so I caved.
I have yet to have a piece of turkey. Maybe for Christmas.
God Bless You!
Bass Pro pyramid- because they sell all the proper hunting gear the Egyptians used (range-finders, speed boats, snake boots). I also dig your travel-wear! I look significantly different on my road trips. Love you
Hilarious! I find the sporting pyramid just as comical as you do.
One must dress for those times when you depart the vehicle — especially rest area stops.
Love you!
Well Lady D, no critters, do you know I much prefer Dei but it is your name, anyway great shots, first one is amazing but I almost missed you in the other one, what a great shape… not the bridge you! but I like the Bridge too …do you know why???
I can see clearly now …. Love Annie
Dear Annie, I’m so glad you can see the rails!
Lady Deidre is my real name, but I have lots of variations of nicknames that stem from that. Maybe even some that aren’t good.
Thanks for the compliment. At my age, it’s good to hear or read in this case.
Love, Dei
Lady D, you look great! the pictures are wonderful.
Thank you, Naphtali, you are very kind!
Great pictures Dei. You wrote you took a quick trip home – where is home?
I just finished listening to Mark Twain’s “Life on the Mississippi” on CD’s and in it he had a chapter about steamboat disasters. He told a story like you described for the monument but I don’t remember if it was about this particular man.
God Bless,
Bill
Actually, Steve was raised in Mississippi, so we go “home” to see his mother.
It was probably Tom Lee because the story is quite old and he’s a river hero.
Thank You, Bill.
Let’s try that again, please delete first one

One cannot deny the existence of a Master Creator when looking at these beautiful pictures. His hand is evident in all you see in each image, the landscape, architecture, and you.
Thank you so much! What a precious thing to write. I appreciate it.
